The Stone of One Place
Tanzanite exists in only one place on Earth: Tanzania’s Merelani Hills. Discovered in 1967, it was named by Tiffany & Co. in 1968. Rarer than diamond in gem quality, tanzanite commands extraordinary prices. Ancient Tanzanian peoples understood its significance before science discovered it.
Tanzanite shows three colours from one angle: blue, violet, burgundy. Just like Stardust, it refuses to be only one story.
Pairings and Cuts
Tanzanite glows in white gold, making violet sing. Yellow gold deepens its mystery. Rose gold softens it into warmth. Cushion cuts showcase tanzanite’s colour depth and pleochroism. Oval cuts reveal its shifting nature. Emerald cuts honour its rarity. Every tanzanite asks to be protected, cherished, worn with intention.
The Living Violet
Tanzanite is zoisite, arriving in deep blue to vivid violet, from pale lavender to intense purple. The stone exhibits pleochroism, revealing different colours from different angles. One moment blue, one moment violet, one moment burgundy. Most tanzanite receives heat treatment to reveal its true colour.
